The story behind the coffee cup.
Meet Coach Sam
Twenty years in education will teach you a lot about kids, curriculum, and classroom management. But the most important thing it taught me was this: you cannot pour from an empty cup.
For years, I showed up early, stayed late, and brought work home. I was writing lesson plans for my team when I should have been present with my newborn. It took me 20 years to finally set boundaries, take care of myself, and see who I actually am beyond my job. Late, not never.
That's part of why I created Coffee With Your Coach.
Teachers often think coaching means something is wrong with them. That if they need help, they must not be good enough. I want to break that. You can be highly skilled and still grow. You can receive feedback and an outside perspective without it meaning you're failing.
For me, coffee is more than a drink. It's the thing that slows me down for just a moment before the day takes off. It's a warm hug in a mug on a hard day. It brings comfort, drops the barriers, and allows you to sit across from someone and really talk. There's something about a good cup of coffee that says you're worth this moment. I wanted CWYC to feel exactly like that.
Here, barriers come down. You don't have to have it all together before you walk through the door. You don't have to pretend the hard days aren't hard. This is a space where you can speak freely, share honestly, and know that what you bring will be met with support, not judgment. You'll leave with clarity, not criticism. Growth, not shame
I saved you a seat. Grab a cup. Let's talk.
